ACTION Renewables has developed a free and extensive education programme for schools and colleges to increase awareness of sustainable and renewable energy technologies and provide FREE school visits to all schools in Northern Ireland to demonstrate the renewable technologies that will become an everyday part of their future.
The Education Programme is delivered by two qualified and experienced teachers, and specialises in meeting the growing demand of the new curriculum area called "The World Around Us" and "Education for Sustainable Development". The main aims of the programme are to develop pupils understanding of the need for renewable energy choices, as well as the challenges and responsibilities associated with the everyday lifestyle choices that impact on the environment.
All schemes of work are individually tailored to meet the needs and abilities of the students, and in addition the programme can be modified to include links to most curriculum subjects or even become a school based project! The programme offered can improve pupils' thinking, problem solving and decision making abilities.
The Programme promotes young peoples responsibilities as a "global citizen" by providing up-to-date information on sustainability and climate change. As Northern Irelands' leading renewable energy organisation, Action Renewables teaching staff has unique access to specialist resources and personnel to make renewable energy topics exciting and relevant to a generation who will have to deal with the consequences of global warming in their lifetime.
The Education programme has an extensive education focused website www.wiseuptorenewables.com" www.wiseuptorenewables.com which provides up-to-date information and resources on Renewable Energy and the related issues of Climate Change. The online resources are tailored to the new revised curriculum for primary and post primary up to AS/A2 level in Northern Ireland.

Teachers' also get their own area with additional teaching materials so educational professionals can keep abreast of current projects and share ideas from all parts of Northern Ireland.
